Government offers revalidation help to nurses and midwives

Mon, 19 Dec 2016

Registered nurses and midwives who aren't currently working on the Island are being offered help by the Manx Government to complete their revalidation.

The Department of Health and Social Care wants to help those not practising to keep their skills up to date.

A number of workers in the healthcare profession are required to undergo revalidation every three years to maintain their registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Part of revalidation includes completing a minimum number of hours worked over a three year period and 35 hours of professional development.

The DHSC is inviting those needing more hours to maintain their registration to join its nursing and midwifery bank, while also offering to fund the development.

Details on joining the bank can be found on the Government's website.
