The emergency services at the scene of the crash yesterday.

The emergency services had to help drivers from their vehicles following a crash on the main Peel to Douglas Road.

The vehicles collided at Greeba shortly after 3.30pm, with the occupants of the cars needing treatment for injuries.

Fire crews helped those in the cars into waiting ambulances - the condition of those involved isn't known.

The road had to remain closed for around two hours while the damaged cars were removed and the emergency services cleared the scene, resulting in lengthy delays for those trying to get home during the evening rush hour.

The Fire and Rescue Service are thanking those who were delayed for their understanding, insisting the closure was necessary to keep those working at the scene safe.
