Grant launched to attract high-profile sporting events

The Isle of Man Government is hoping to attract more high profile sporting events to the Island with a new grant.

The Island of Sport grant will be funded by sales of National Lottery tickets.

It's hoped the fund will encourage governing bodies to consider the Island as a host for events and competitions.

Isle of Man Sport believes bringing such events to the Island will raise the profile of the Isle of Man and boost the economy.

The grant will help fund the cost of getting to and from the Island, accommodation and the marketing of the event.
