MHKs to give evidence at election committee hearing

Sat, 07 Jan 2017

The Treasury Minister and Speaker of the House of Keys will be among a number of people to give evidence to a committee reviewing last year's General Election.

A select committee is examining the organisation and operation of the vote, which took place in September last year.

Alfred Cannan and Juan Watterson will give evidence next Thursday, along with representatives from Ramsey Town Commissioners and Douglas Borough Council.

Unsuccessful election candidate Louise Whitelegg and Isle of Man Law Society CEO Juan Moore will also be called, along with a number of civil servants from the Cabinet Office.

The committee is due to report back to Tynwald by April.
