Fri, 13 Jan 2017

The number of people registered unemployed in the Isle of Man grew slightly during December.

99 people signed on last month while 93 left the register, leaving 579 people out of work.

The figure leaves an unemployment rate of 1.3%.

Despite the rise compared to November, the figure is 282 lower than at the same time 12 months ago, and the lowest total for the month of December since 2007.

During the same time, 462 job vacancies were posted at the Job Centre, over 80% of which were full-time positions.
