Local authorities announce rate rises

More local authorities have announced increases to their rates for the forthcoming year.

Patrick Commissioners revealed the rate for the area, which includes Glen Maye and Foxdale, will jump by 14% to 160p in the pound.

There's also a price hike for residents in Port St Mary, with the Commissioners there setting the rate at 315p in the pound - an increase of 9p compared with the 2016-17 financial year.

Rushen will increase by 10p to 95p, as well as a £2 increase to its rubbish collection surcharge, while there's also a 2p rise in Arbory.
