Schools to publish bullying policies

All schools on the Island will have to display their bullying policy on their websites.

The move was announced in this week's sitting of the House of Keys following an enquiry about bullying at Manx schools from Garff MHK Daphne Caine.

Education and Children member Ann Corlett admitted procedures and policies for dealing with bullies are often hidden in schools' handbooks and not readily available when an issue arises.

Mrs Corlett also insisted that robust sanctions are applied when behaviour falls below the expected level.
