Flights at Ronaldsway were delayed this evening after a British Airways aircraft bound for London aborted take off.

Sources at the Airport told Energy FM that it was thought debris had been left on the main runway and no flights could land until a thorough inspection had been completed.

Gatwick, Bristol and Glasgow Arrivals, all had to circle off the coast until the runways were decared safe for operation.

The runways were open again shortly after 8.15pm
