Snow and ice keeps Mountain Road closed

The Mountain Road is to remain closed following an assessment of the road conditions.

Police took the decision to shut the route last night after snow and ice formed on the road.

Officers are working with the Department of Infrastructure to monitor the conditions.

The weather on the mountain is currently deteriorating, but the police will issue a further update later.
