Reminder against taking unknown substances after children hospitalised

Sat, 15 Apr 2017

Police are reminding the Manx public of the dangers of taking unknown substances after three young children were hospitalised.

Officers were called to the Bowl at the National Sports Centre on Thursday afternoon after a child needed medical children for a reaction to an unknown substance.

As a result, all three youngsters were taken to Noble's for treatment and care, while staff at the hospital are working to identify the substance involved.

Officers confirmed the children are in a stable condition, and believe the trio found the substance in Douglas earlier in the day.

Anyone who finds a substance is urged to hand it in to the police of a local pharmacy.
