The Health Minister insists the future of Ramsey and District Cottage Hospital is secure despite some services being moved to Noble's.

Kate Beecroft confirmed the Department of Health and Social Care is moving all endoscopy services to the new £1.6m facility at Noble's, as well as transferring two members of staff from Ramsey to Noble's.

The changes will come in from May 22nd, but the Minister insists the theatre suite in Ramsey will remain open.

Mrs Beecroft hopes the move will cut endoscopy waiting times, with the aim to have all patients seen within six weeks of referral within a year.

Some residents in the area have called for Ramsey Town Commissioners to hold a meeting to discuss the future of the hospital, while one of the town's MHKs admitted he was shocked by the move.
