Manx police increase patrols after UK raises terror threat level

Wed, 24 May 2017

The Island's police force is increasing foot and mobile patrols following the UK's decision to raise the terrorism threat level to critical.

The Isle of Man Constabulary says it's taking a proportionate response and additional resources are being deployed to offer reassurance and enhanced security.

Critical terror threat level means authorities consider an attack imminent.

Officers are also urging Manx residents travelling to the UK to take sensible precautions and read the UK Government's advice on terrorism security ahead of their trip.

23 people died when a suicide bomber detonated an explosive device outside an Ariana Grande concert at Manchester Arena on Monday.
