DoI urges road users to download app

Wed, 31 May 2017

The Department of Infrastructure is reminding Manx residents and visitors wanting to keep up to date with the latest road information that they can download an app.

The readthesigns app allows users to check the information being displayed on 13 electronic traffic signs placed around the Island, including those at the Villa Marina, Liverpool Arms and along the Mountain Road.

The matrix signs are used to warns those on the roads of emergency or temporary road closures, as well as weather warnings.

The information on the app, which is free for iPhone and android users, is refreshed every five minutes.

The app has been available since 2014, but the Department believes having real-time information available is particularly useful during TT.
