25 people had to be flown off Island in the air ambulance during TT fortnight.

The Department of Health and Social Care has revealed 11 of the 25 taken to the UK for treatment had suffered trauma, while a number have since returned to Noble's for ongoing treatment.

The majority of those who sustain an injury on the Island are treated at Noble's, but those suffering major trauma such as spinal and brain injuries are taken to Aintree in Liverpool for specialist treatment.

Extra staff are needed for patient transfers throughout the busy period, with training sessions held in April and May in preparation for the festival.
