Police call for end to social media speculation over assault on child

Police are urging the Manx public not to speculate about an incident that took place at one of the Island's museums.

Officers say they're aware of a social media post about an alleged assault on a young child at the Manx Museum yesterday.

A man was arrested following the incident and an investigation is taking place.

The police are working with the museum to ensure measures are in place to keep children safe at the site.

Those in charge of the investigation are aware of speculation on social media, but are calling for this to be refrained from due to the nature of the investigation.
