Dunlop sets pace in Southern 100 practice

Tue, 11 Jul 2017

Michael Dunlop was fastest in practice at the Southern 100.

The winner of this year's Senior TT posted a 110.899 mile per hour lap on the 1000cc Suzuki, just beating Manx rider Dan Kneen, while Dean Harrison was third quickest.

The opening practice session was red flagged following an incident at Church Bends, which resulted in a rider being taken to Noble's with suspected fractures.

The organisers will release more information when it becomes available.

James Cowton set the pace on the 600cc machines, while Dave Molyneux and Dan Sayle were the quickest sidecar team, setting the only lap in excess of 100mph.

The first races of the meeting get underway on the Billown Course this evening.
