Ferry operator reports increase in Southern 100 visitors

Visitors coming to the Isle of Man for the Southern 100 are up by an eighth this year.

According to the Steam Packet Company, 997 motorcycles were brought to the Island for the four-day road racing event - up from 883 last year.

The ferry operator also revealed that total passenger number were up by almost 5%.

Other vehicles, including vans and trailers have been up by 4.5% during the race period.

Michael Dunlop, Dean Harrison and the Birchall brothers were among the race winners at this year's event.
