Road safety campaign launched ahead of Festival of Motorcycling

Tue, 15 Aug 2017

The image of a biker who died in a crash while visiting the Festival of Motorcycling will be used as part of a road safety campaign at this year's event.

Lewis Clark, who was killed in a collision on the Mountain Road in 2015, also featured in this year's TT campaign.

His image will be used on a billboard at Ramsey Hairpin, as well as on leaflets including road closure times to encourage riders to stay safe.

The Roads Policing Unit and Road Safety Team hope the campaign will encourage people to act responsibly and stay safe on the Island's road during the fortnight.

Unlike in TT, the Mountain Road will remain two-way during the festival, which gets underway on Saturday.
