The first practices for this year's Manx Grand Prix and Classic TT are due to get underway this evening.

The roads around the TT course will close from 5pm, reopening no later than 9pm.

The session is due to get underway at 5.20 with a speed controlled lap for newcomers, before returning riders take to the course at 5.35pm.

The final 30 minutes of the practice are reserved for newcomers, although the laps will be untimed, finishing at 8.05pm.

Unlike in TT, the Mountain Road remains two-way when open to traffic, but cycling is prohibited on the route during the fortnight.
