Met Office issues amber warning ahead of heavy rain

The Island's Met Office is warning of heavy rain and storm force winds as Storm Aileen hits the Isle of Man this evening.

Forecasters have issued an amber warning for heavy rainfall from 5pm today until 2am tomorrow, while reaching reaching up to storm 10 are expected at around midnight.

As a result, the Met Office expects the rain to hit across the Island this evening, peaking over the hills with flooding expected.

Conditions are due to improve in the early hours of tomorrow morning.
