Thu, 26 Oct 2017

Running the Animal Waste Processing Plant cost the Government over £750,000 in the last financial year.

During the 2016-17 financial year, the Department of Infrastructure spent just over £665,800 on operating costs, and a further £225,000 on capital costs, while receiving an income of £138,200.

The figures, which were released in response to a Freedom of Information request, also revealed that nearly £150,000 is owed in outstanding payments for waste disposal.

The Animal Waste Processing Plant opened on Richmond Hill in 2009 alongside the energy from waste facility.
