Appleby blasts Paradise Papers reporting

Tue, 07 Nov 2017

One of the companies that has had documents leaked in the Paradise Papers says it's disappointed that information obtained illegally has been published.

Appleby, which has operations in the Isle of Man, insists its data was stolen in an illegal hack.

Appleby also alleged that the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists' claims that the company didn't respond to their questions are false, and that their reporting hasn't permitted fairness and accuracy.

A statement from the company described the information as a patchwork quilt of unrelated allegations with a clear political agenda against offshore.

The firm confirmed it has investigated the allegations made by the ICIJ and that it hasn't found any evidence of wrongdoing.
