Inflation rises to 3.8%

Sat, 02 Dec 2017

Inflation on the Isle of Man climbed to 3.8% in November.

Over the last month the Island's Consumer Prices Index jumped up by 0.5%.

The Government believes a 6.3% rise in the cost of sea travel is behind the rise, while groceries and the cost of meals and drinks at pubs and bars has continued to increase.

Tea and painkillers have also both seen big price rises over the last 12 months, while subscriptions to the internet and footwear are among the items that are cheaper than at this time last year.
