Manx cyclist Mark Cavendish had to pull out of this year's Tour de France after the crash with Peter Sagan.

Mark Cavendish's team says it will seek clarification from cycling's governing body after it dropped its legal dispute with Peter Sagan.

The Manxman was injured following a crash with the Slovakian rider at this year's Tour de France, which resulted in Sagan being disqualified from the race.

Team Dimension Data insists it will be writing to the UCI to request more details about the decision.

The team says it was surprised not to be included in the investigation as its rider suffered the most as a result of the incident.

Dimension Data added that Cavendish played no part in the crash, and that they won't be issuing any further comment.
