Health services, buses affected by snow

Fri, 08 Dec 2017

Medical services, buses to the hospital and the post office have all been disrupted by the weather conditions.

All outpatient clinics, self-referral physiotherapy and occupational therapy appointments for mental health patients have been cancelled, while a number of GP surgeries and dentists have been forced to closed.

Bus services in the south of the Island and routes from Douglas to Peel and Ramsey are operating again, but Isle of Man Transport can't serve Strang or Noble's Hospital.

The Isle of Man Post Office has had to close its Onchan, Laxey and Windsor Road branches, while Douglas Post Office will close at 2.30pm. The Treasury has made emergency social security payments available from 1pm so they can be collected before the branch closes.
