Manx Utilities have confirmed residents and businesses in Lower Douglas are safe to use their drinking water again.

Those along North Quay and Church Street had been instructed not to use water from their taps yesterday after sea water got into the system.

The board later advised that water needed to be boiled before it could be used, but Public Health has now confirmed it is safe to drink again.

However, those in the affected area need to run a cold tap for 20 minutes to clear their systems.
