Weather warning issued ahead of high tide

Thu, 04 Jan 2018

A yellow weather warning will be in place later as large waves are expected to come over the sea walls onto some coastal roads and promenades.

Ronaldsway Met Office expects there to be coastal overtopping between 10.50am and 2.50pm, with high tide at 12.51pm.

Fenella Beach and the promenade in Peel are expected to be the worst affected, but Shore Road, Castletown Promenade and the northern end of Douglas Promenade are also likely to be at risk.

Gale to severe gale force winds are also due to hit the Island this afternoon.
