Backup power source causes fire in Douglas

Fire crews were called out to a commercial premises in Douglas after a backup power source caused a fire.

Firefighters from Douglas responded to an automatic fire alarm at the premises shortly before midnight on Saturday evening.

Officers smelt burning at the scene and used therm imaging cameras to locate the source of the fire.

The team was able to isolate the power and ventilate the room, spending around two hours at the scene.
