The Department of Health and Social Care is urging Manx residents to return medical items such as crutches and wheelchairs to its equipment store.

Equipment issued by the Department remains the property of the DHSC, but many items are never returned, with some given away to charity shops or listed for sale on social media.

The Department has an Integrated Equipment Loan Store in the Kirby Farm Industrial Estate in Braddan where items are cleaned and refurbished after being returned.

The DHSC is appealing for those who have items no longer in use to return them so they can be reused or recycled.

Equipment can be dropped off at the equipment store or collection can be arranged by calling 693553.
