The Manx Government is developing a plan to help it reduce the amount of single use plastic it uses.

Chief Minister Howard Quayle admitted in the House of Keys this morning that there is an inconsistent approach to single use plastic across Government currently, and that there are no targets in place.

As a result, Mr Quayle has asked the Council of Ministers' Environment and Infrastructure Committee to produce a plan that will significantly reduce the amount of such plastics used by Government.

The Committee will report back to CoMin no later than May, with the plans to be published later this year.
