Cavendish claims first win of 2018

Manx cyclist Mark Cavendish secured his first stage win of the season at the Tour of Dubai today.

The Team Dimension Data rider's victory on stage three of the race moves him up to third in the general classification.

The win is Cavendish's first since last year's Tour of Abu Dhabi in February, having suffered with glandular fever and a broken shoulder in 2017.

Fellow Manxman Mark Christian of Aqua Blue Sport had been part of an early break, but his group was caught with 60km remaining.
