Garff Commissioners announce by-election date

One of the Island's local authorities will hold a by-election next month following the death of a member.

Garff Commissioners have confirmed Maughold Ward will go to the polls on March 22nd after Robert Moughtin's death resulted in a casual vacancy.

Those interested in standing can obtain nomination papers from the Commissioners' Office in Laxey, and must complete the nomination process by Tuesday 27th February.

Absent voters will need to obtain an application form from their returning officer or any police station in the district in order to obtain a ballot paper.
