Police issue advice following theft of 400 litres of diesel

Thu, 01 Mar 2018

Police in the west of the Island have issued advice on preventing heating oil and fuel thefts after 400 litres of diesel was stolen in the area.

The fuel has been taken from a heavy goods vehicle in the area.

The Western Neighbourhood Policing Team is urging local residents to consider security lighting and CCTV around their oil tanks, as well as making sure it's secured with padlocks and tools aren't left nearby.

Those who drive HGVs are also advised to secure vehicles in a yard and consider not leaving vehicles overnight containing a significant amount of fuel.
