The Chief Minister say he's open to relocating Government Departments outside of Douglas.

Howard Quayle was asked whether more Government offices could be moved away from the Island's capital in this month's sitting of Tynwald.

Mr Quayle highlighted the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture, the Office of Fair Trading and the Aircraft Registry as services which already exist outside of Douglas.

Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse asked whether more services could be located in the south of the Island if the Ballasalla bypass is given the go-ahead.

The Chief Minister confirmed Government has an open mind and if there is a proper business case then such a move could happen, but Government policy is currently that most offices will be located in Douglas.
