Dog walkers reminded to keep animals on leads in nature reserve

Tue, 03 Apr 2018

Dog walkers are being reminded that their animals need to be kept on leads in the Ayres National Nature Reserve.

From the start of April until the end of July, dogs must be walked on leads in the area to protect ground nesting birds.

Those visiting the reserve are asked to stick to the main paths and move away if birds show signs of agitation or distress.

Failure to comply with the byelaws for the reserve could result in a fine of up to £2,500.
