A fifth of road surface defects not repaired

Almost a fifth of the road surface defects reported to the Department of Infrastructure haven't been fixed.

In response to a Freedom of Information request, the DoI revealed 140 road surface defects were reported over the last 12 months, and 26 are still to be dealt with.

The same statement also revealed over 1100 potholes were reported in the same time, but only 23 remain outstanding.

Complaints came from members of the public, local authorities and Government staff.
