Cost of GPs at Meds rises by almost £25,000

The cost of operating the Manx Emergency Doctors Service increased by almost £25,000 last year.

During the 2017-18 financial period, the cost of GPs at Meds was £710,536.40 - £24703.90 rise on the previous 12 months.

A further £11,807 was spent on locum GPs last year after no locums were needed at Meds during the 2016-17 period.

Part of the increase included a 2% pay rise, which came in on April 1st.
