Chief Constable, Attorney General to give evidence to abuse inquiry

Tue, 01 May 2018

The Island's Chief Constable and Attorney General will give evidence at an inquiry into historic child abuse later this month.

Tynwald's Social Affairs Policy Review Committee has announced it will hear from a number of people in the coming weeks, including Chief Constable Gary Roberts and John Quinn.

Tynwald committed to look into historic abuse at the former Knottfield Children's Home last year, but had to suspend the inquiry until March while a criminal investigation took place.

Legislative Council member Kerry Sharpe will be one of a number of people to give evidence on Thursday this week, while the head of the Island's police will speak to the committee on Friday May 18th, followed by the Attorney General on May 21st.
