Slight increase in unemployment

Unemployment on the Isle of Man increased slightly last month.

At the end of April, there were 407 people registered unemployed - an increase of eight compared with March.

The figure, which gives the Island an unemployment rate of 1%, is 55 fewer than at the same time last year, and the lowest total for April since 2004.

Fewer job vacancies were notified to the Jon Centre during April, with 627 vacancies remaining at the end of the month.
