Engineers working to repair fixed telephone line network

Telecoms engineers are working to fix a problem which has affected calls to fixed telephone lines on the Isle of Man.

Manx Telecom confirmed failed ISDN circuits resulted in an outage that impacted calls to Government departments, Noble's Hospital, the 999 service, and a number of other local businesses.

The Government has advised that the mobile network isn't affected, and that 999 calls should be made from mobiles.

MT says the situation will be resolved as soon as possible.
