Mercer in a stable condition

The TT rider injured as a result of a collision with a course car is now in a stable condition in a Liverpool hospital.

TT organisers confirmed Steve Mercer is stable and receiving ongoing assessment following the incident on the Wednesday of practice week at Ballacrye.

Meanwhile, sidecar duo Tony Baker and Fiona Baker-Holden are both described as comfortable following their incident at Sky Hill during Saturday's red flagged sidecar race.

Baker sustained a leg fracture in the crash, while Baker-Holden has soft tissue injuries.
