Lifeboat helps yacht with engine failure

Douglas lifeboat crew was called out after a yacht heading to the harbour broke down four miles from shore.

The 25-foot vessel had been heading from Whitehaven to the Island yesterday evening when both fan belts on the vessel's engine failed.

The only person on board radioed for help off Clay Head, resulting in the lifeboat launching.

The lifeboat quickly located the yacht and towed the vessel to a berth on Battery Pier.
