The Chairman of a Tynwald committee looking into historic child abuse at a former children's home on the Isle of Man wants the remit of the committee to be extended.

MLC David Cretney is seeking permission for the Social Affairs Policy Review Committee to look at abuse not connected to Knottfield.

The home closed in 1983, but Tynwald called for a review into abuse at the facility last year.

Mr Cretney will ask for approval to look at other matters when Tynwald sits this month.
