Family of three rescued by lifeboat after engine failure

Fri, 06 Jul 2018

A family of three was rescued by Port St Mary Lifeboat after their boat suffered engine failure.

The group was stranded around 400 yards behind Port St Mary breakwater shortly before 4.30pm yesterday.

The lifeboat crew had been on a exercise at Langness at the time, but abandoned the exercise to head to the stricken vessel two miles away.

The small boat was towed back to port, with the two adults and child on board arriving safely just after 5pm.
