New bus scheme for patients with off-Island appointments

Thu, 26 Jul 2018

A pilot bus scheme for patients travelling off Island for medical appointments will begin next week.

Those in the north of the Island who have their travel funded by the Department of Health and Social Care will be collected at home by a minibus operated by Bus Vannin.

The service will start at 5am and drop patients at the Sea Terminal or Isle of Man Airport ahead of the earliest departures each day.

The DHSC intends to extend the service to all patients from September if the trial proves successful.

Those due to travel to the UK for medical appointments can get further information from the Patient Transfer Office at Noble's Hospital.
