Mon, 03 Sep 2018

The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service has urged Island residents to keep tumble dryers fully maintained and regularly serviced.

Firefighters received a call shortly before 6:30am today reporting a fire in a tumble dryer at a property in Ballfurt Road in Port Erin.

Fire and smoke damaged was confined to the room of origin.

The appliance was made safe and crews used a ventilation fan to clear the property of smoke.

Crews left the scene at just after 7am.
