Inflation rises to 2.3%

Mon, 10 Sep 2018

Inflation went up on the Isle of Man last month.

The Consumer Prices Index stood at 1.6 % in July and increased to 2.3% at the end of August.

The cabinet office says the rising price of oil has been a significant driver of inflation, with its price of being 46% higher compared with August last year.

Food and drink, clothing and footwear, and recreation and culture all saw slight reductions.

Kennel fees and postage fees are all significantly more expensive than at this time last year, while men's outerwear and tea have all fallen.
