Police are warning of a text scam on the Isle of Man.

The Isle of Man Constabulary received a number of reports of a fake message claiming to be from BT contacting Manx Telecom mobile numbers.

The text includes a link, which officers warn could see your personal data being stolen if clicked.

Anyone who receives such a message is being urged to delete it and block the number of their handset.

Police say anyone who doubts whether such a message is genuine can contact their phone provider.
