Cats Rescued From House Fire

Fire crews were called to a house fire in Douglas on Saturday.

Two crews were called the property in Harcroft Road at just after 2:30pm.

On arrival crews were informed that no one was in the property but a number of cats and kittens remained inside.

A breathing apparatus team was sent in to the smoke filled property to investigate.

Using thermal imaging equipment the team discovered and extinguished a small fire confined to a cooker hob and were able to quickly locate and retrieve all of the animals, none the worse for their ordeal.
