Yellow Weather Warning & Travel Disruption Tonight and Tomorrow

Thu, 11 Oct 2018

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rain and strong winds.

Up to 45-50mm of rain could fall over the next few days.

The yellow warning is in for now until 6am on Sunday.

Severe gale force winds are expected tomorrow, with gusts reaching up to 60mph. This evenings (Thursday) Steam Packet Sailing to Heysham has been cancelled along with the 02:15am return overnight.

Meanwhile, weather conditions have resulted in a number of delays and cancellation at the Isle of Man Airport tomorrow.

Ronaldsway says the following flights have already been cancelled tomorrow due to strong winds.

  • BE810 and BE813 to Manchester
  • BE601 and BE603 to Liverpool
  • EI3213 to Dublin

Easyjet are offering passengers the opportunity to move from tomorrows flights to tonight but passengers must contact Easyjet direct.

A spokesman for Isle of Man Airport said: "We understand that flights should get back to normal in time for the 12.50 Manchester and the 1pm Birmingham and then onwards, but as always this is subject to change."

The airport is advising anyone travelling tomorrow to check the airport's website and contact the airline they're travelling with to see what the flight status is.
